Moab in November?

The guys went to Moab last week end.
Sounds like they had a great time. Two days of good, solid riding.
The weather was great and hopefully this last ride of the season will
hold them over until next Spring.

Carving Pumpkins!!!

Steven & Brooke invited us over for a Halloween Party/FHE.
We had yummy homemade Pizza by Brooke and then we carved our pumpkins.
Oh, they turned out so cute.
We had a great time.

Emily's pumpkin was as big as she was.

Working hard!

This pumpkin was more Emily's size.

Matt's 18th Birthday

A birthday isn't a birthday without a pinata!
I'm not too sure Matt liked this idea but he played along willingly.
What a sport!

Here's Matt with his new Archos.
It's a mp3 player. He does have an ipod but had to have this too.
We hope you had a great birthday Matt. We love you!
Yes, you are now an adult, WATCH OUT!!!

Homecoming (or not?)

Well, homecoming started good. The parade was amazing, Matt was in charge of it and it was wonderful. Skyline won their homecoming game against the Twin Falls Bruins. That was good. Then, Matt took the ACT test on Saturday morning. Then the day date started at our house, we had hamburgers on the grill and homemade fries done in the Dutch oven. Yummy! Then, comes the "Mom, I don't feel so well."

I sent Matt downstairs to rest in hopes that by the evening, he would feel better. But, at 6:30 here comes Matt and he still doesn't feel well. After a blessing, lots of hope and faith, off to the dance he went.
The dance was at the Shilo Inn. They got there and Matt ended up on the bathroom throwing up. They did get pictures and then back to the bathroom.

I was out at Johnson's where us Mother's were preparing dinner. Here comes Matt and he looked terrible. Off to the bedroom/bathroom for him. I helped with dinner and poor Hilary was all by herself. She did go to the dance with the group of kids and I took Matt home. Oh, I felt so sorry for Hilary. You know, a lot goes into going to a dance for the girl and guy. Then, to top things off, I got it early Sunday morning. Matt and I both were both sick on Sunday. We both feel much better now and I think life will go on. Please notice Hilary's flowers, they were custom put together by Matt and I. (Oh, we have so much fun!)

Lake Powell 2009

We got to go to Lake Powell with the Kinghorns again this year.
We had an awesome time playing in the sun and water.
It was soooo hot and we loved it.
Here we are at Rainbow Bridge.

The kids enjoying themselves.

Matt - surfing!

Here is picture of the sand castle Matt and Riley made.
I wish the picture included them.

The water was so warm!
Thanks to the Kinghorns for the wonderful vacation!

The hollow tree

My guys went on one last bike ride before Sam headed back to school.
Sounds like they had a great time.

Girls Camp 2009

Our fearless camp leaders for Girl's Camp 2009:
Karen Olson
Mary Cowley
Carla Jones

This year we had the opportunity of having a very special guest visit our Girl's Camp at West Piney. Sis. Mary Cook, the 1st counselor in the General YW presidency was our guest. Oh, she was so awesome!!! She had the most amazing personality and had the spirit with her continually. She visited each ward camp and taught a couple of YW how to play the Unukalhai. It was amazing! I loved how she was there to be with the girls. She loved visiting with them and asking lots of questions.

Pictured above is: Robyn Holmgren, my 1st counselor. Then, Sis. Cook, Pat Madsen, my secretary and then Me.

Here Sis. Cook is at the Skyline Ward camp. Next to her is her 17 year old Granddaughter, Allison and Jess McKay from the Skyline ward.

Posing by Nephi!

We had a pirate theme this year.
Lay up your treasures in Heaven:
1st day - The gospel of Jesus Christ is our map
2nd day - Every storm makes you a better navigator
3rd day - Anchor yourself in safe waters
4th day - All that glitters is not pure gold

I just loved the value flags.

Bishop's Night around the campfire.

Camp was so amazing!
I loved every minute of it.
Just look at all these girls, they have no clue how much effort and work went into this camp. Hopefully, someday they will all get the opportunity to be a camp leader themselves. I feel so blessed because I get the opportunity to serve in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank my Heavenly Father daily for my many blessings!

Beaters at Grandma's

Brooke and Emily came yesterday and helped me make thank-you gifts for Trek helpers.
Emily got to help by licking the beaters after making frosting.

Simple pleasures!

Look what was in my flowers this morning. . .

Emily and Great-Grandma Hayes

Sunday we went up to Mom's for lunch. You can't believe how excited I was to come home from the Trek on Saturday and find out we had been invited to Mom's for lunch. I was so tired and I so much appreciated the invite and the wonderful lunch. Mom always puts on a good spread.

Here is a picture of Mom giving Emily a "horsey" ride. It was so cute, Emily kept coming to Mom and wanting her to get down on the floor so she could "ride" her.

The Trek

Last week our Stake did a Pioneer Trek.
Oh, so much work but so much fun! Here's a picture of the
handcarts after we arrived at our first camp spot.

Here is Wynn and I all dressed in our pioneer attire.

This is a picture of my presidency.
Aren't we a cute group?

Here come the kids on the first day looking forward to lunch.

What a beautiful place Chesterfield is.
There is such a neat spirit there.
I can't wait to go back.

Idaho Falls Temple

There has been so much water coming over the falls. I had to capture a picture on one of my walks around the river.

Gerber Daisy

I grew this Gerber Daisy in a pot on my patio. Matt did the photography.
I think it is the brightness of the flower that I am so fond of.

Playing with Emily

We love you Ems!

Reading inside the toy box.

Shoshone Falls

Wynn and I took Memorial Day Monday and went on a drive to
The Shoshone Ice Caves. Here I am with a dinosaur.
Our pictures of the ice cave weren't real great.
But we had a fun time visiting.

Here I am by Shoshone Falls just outside of Twin Falls.
They were simply beautiful.

Memorial Day Week-end

Our whole family was together for a just a little while on Sunday evening before Memorial Day. It was fun having everyone there. We visited and decorated graves and then we all went to Steve and Brooke's for the best cake ever. Grandma Hayes even went with us.
(She is taking our picture)
